Mobility Learning Community

Moving Maine hosts the Mobility Learning Community sessions on the last Wednesday of every other month from 12pm-1pm. These interactive sessions are an opportunity for stakeholders from around the state to network and learn together. Each session features a presentation, discussion, and time for information-sharing.

    Featuring Lisa Smith, a lifelong resident of Aroostook County and Mobility Manager for Aroostook Regional Transportation System, sharing about her day-to-day work addressing mobility barriers in rural Maine.

    The Basin Babes: Walking for Health, Access and Community in Rural Maine

    Featuring Tanya Rucosky from Sunrise Council Economic Council, presenting about efforts in Addison, Maine, to become a safer and friendlier place for walking. She tells the story of a local walking group known as the Basin Babes – composed of an amazing group of five 80-something women – and shares what she has learned from a community-wide survey.

    Bringing Vision Zero to Maine

    Featuring Paul Drinan, founder of Vision Zero Maine and Rick Harbison of Vision Zero Greater Portland. Vision Zero is a multi-faceted approach that seeks to eliminate all serious injuries and deaths from any type of roadway crash.
